Mess DInner

A big shout out to volunteers!  Thank you to our volunteers for helping to make the mess dinner a successful one!  Peter Allen-Reid and Jiliane Eastwood your hard work did not go unnoticed!

The Legion put on a great dinner and the kids appeared to have a good time!

The first Wednesday of January is New Year's Day, so there will not be a parent meeting that night.  Stay tuned for January's date.

Have a safe and fun holiday and see you in the new year!

Cheers from the Navy League!

Calling out for your help!

Dear parents,

As you may be aware, we have 50+ cadets now!  How exciting to have a such a large number of kids.  However, as some of you that have seen our hall are aware, it's kind of on the small size for that many kids.

We have recently been talking to the President of the Curling Club and he has encouraged the Navy League to put in a proposal to use their banquet hall as a place to parade.  What they are looking from us, is help around the hall; painters, carpenters, carpet layers, plumbers and people just to help the building be in better repair.

My hopes are that parents will step up and help out so that we may be able to use the hall for free.  We cannot afford to rent a larger space and the location is perfect!

If you have skills to help out at the curling rink (and at our own hall) please let us know so that we can put a proposal together.

We look forward to hearing form you soon,

Cheers,

Volunteer Screening

Good day,

I was able to look into the volunteer screening as there were some parents with some questions and concerns.

Any parents that would like to volunteer at the hall or chaperone any private events and all executive have to have their NL Volunteer ID.  Any fundraising events held in public the NL ID is not needed.

Thank you to the parents that got their screening application in.

Snowbirds

The Cadets had a fantastic time yesterday when they had the opportunity to meet with some of the pilots and technicians of the Snowbirds. They got a tour of the jets and some cadets even had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of the plane. a special thanks goes out to the Terrace Air Cadets who planned the trip and invited us to join them.
