Hello to all Cadets and Parents/Guardians.

 

 

Captain Cook Sea Cadets are entering the busiest month of this training year so a list of events is detailed below for your information and action.

 

Wednesday May 27th 1830hrs (6:30PM):     Annual Mess Diner at the Royal Canadian Legion - 812 3rd Avenue West

This is a formal diner and Cadets must be prepared to attend wearing their Ceremonial Uniforms in excellent condition; clean pressed and polished. Haircuts must meet required military standards.

 

Wednesday June 3rd 1830hrs (6:30PM)        Annual Ceremonial Review at Chatham Hall – Seal Cove Training Facility

This is a formal Parade and Cadets must be prepared to attend wearing their Ceremonial Uniforms complete with medals, in excellent condition; clean pressed and polished. Haircuts must meet required military standards. This event represents a formal celebration of the completion of another successful year’s training. Awards and promotions will be presented. Attendance is mandatory for all Cadets, and parents are encouraged to attend.

 

Wednesday June 10th 1600hrs (4:00PM)    Kloya Bay Fun Event – provided by the Prince Rupert Navy League

This is a fun event for all Cadets and their parents. Food will be provided and kayaks provided by Joe’s Kayaks will be available on site for Cadets to enjoy. There may be a small charge for use of the kayaks. Time is subject to change and event may be subject to weather conditions. More information will follow

 

 

Friday June 12th to Sunday June 14th           Camp Halifax Sail Training Weekend – Situated on Babine Lake north of Smithers

This is a sail training event that will be available to approximately one half of the Corp’s Cadets. Those Cadets most in need of the sail qualifications to be promoted will selected to attend and will be notified no later than May 27th. Highway Bus transportation will be provided by DND and all training and activities at Camp Halifax will be supervised by qualified and competent CIC Officers and senior cadet staff. Kit lists and permission forms will  be provided to all Cadets selected to attend. It is expected that Cadets attending will miss school on Friday June 12th.

 

Any Cadet still holding a corps-issued green duffle-bag must return it to supply as soon as possible and no later than June 3.

 

Those Cadets selected to attend summer camp must return their ‘Offers of Participation’ as soon as possible. Cadets and parents will be provided with travel and joining instructions as soon as they are made available.

 

Any questions regarding any of the forgoing may be directed to any of the Corps Staff.
